Wheelchair & Stretcher Taxi in Tokyo, Driven by a Paramedic
Habataki Care Taxi is driven by a licensed paramedic (formerly with the Tokyo Fire Department, with more than 10,000 emergency calls) and based in Hinode, in the Tama area of West Tokyo. We are the natural choice if you are staying in or travelling to West Tokyo (Hachioji, Tachikawa, Ome, Fussa, Yokota Air Base and nearby) and need a wheelchair or stretcher transfer to Haneda or Narita. We are also the people to email if something goes wrong during your stay in Tokyo: a hospital visit, a discharge, a stretcher ride to the airport. Central Tokyo hotels are welcome too, but please note that for a plain hotel–airport transfer in central Tokyo, a metered accessible taxi based in the city will usually be cheaper than our flat rate.

What we can do
- Airport pickup at Haneda (HND) and Narita (NRT), with meet-and-greet at arrivals
- Wheelchair, reclining wheelchair and stretcher transport (Toyota HiAce, ambulance-grade interior)
- Up to 5 companions ride together at no extra charge
- Medical oxygen, suction and patient monitoring available on request (doctor's instructions required for oxygen)
- Transfers between hotels, hospitals, clinics and sightseeing spots — you decide where to go, we drive and assist
- Physical assistance at every step: getting in and out, stairs, transfers between wheelchair and bed
Private hire (full day / half day)
| Plan | Price | Includes |
|---|---|---|
| Full day | ¥80,000 | Up to 8 hours, from your arrival at the airport (or your first pickup) until your last drop-off |
| Half day | ¥50,000 | Up to 4 hours |
Charters start from the Tama / West Tokyo area. Your driver does not just drive: he parks, comes with you on foot and shows you around, and this is included in the fare. He speaks Japanese and basic English and uses a translation app; an English-speaking paramedic can join us as an interpreter on request (see the rate below). Admission tickets and meals are bought by you on the spot. We do not book hotels or other transport. Pick-ups at central Tokyo hotels are possible; please ask.
- The trip from our base to the airport is free of charge. Your time starts when we meet you.
- Overtime beyond the booked hours: ¥3,960 per 30 min, calculated in 5-minute increments.
- More than 8 hours in one day: please ask for a quote in advance.
- Night care fee: ¥5,500 for service between 22:00 and 6:00.
- Narita Airport pickup or drop-off: +¥10,000.
- Not included: expressway tolls and parking (charged at cost).
- Service area: all of Tokyo, based in Hinode (West Tokyo). Fussa / Yokota Air Base gate pick-up. Kanagawa, Chiba and Saitama on request.
- Flight delays: waiting at the airport is free within your booked hours. If the delay pushes you past your booked hours, the first extra hour is free; after that, overtime applies.
- The 10% disability discount under our approved fare applies only to holders of a Japanese disability certificate.
- Prices include consumption tax. The fare portion follows the taxi fare approved by the Kanto District Transport Bureau; assistance fees are set by Habataki.

A paramedic drives, with oxygen (on a doctor's instruction), suction and monitoring on board.
If a wheelchair breaks, email us with your location and what you need.
